Use molasses to feed and stimulate soil micro-organisms. The microbes them process the organic matter in the soil, which is then ready for plant intake.
Molasses can also be used as a foliar feed for plants as a water/molasses mix, or can be mixed with any liquid fertilizer (seaweed, fish oil, etc.).Also, it's a good microbe stimulator in compost piles.
Most molasses have an NPK of approximately 1-0-5 and is a source of sulfur and other trace minerals.
Mix 1-2 oz./gal of water or fertilizer mix and spray lawns and plants, or use as a soil drench.
For agriculture use Howard Garrett, The Dirt Doctor, recommends 2-4 quarts per acre for soil application, and for grasses and grains use 1 quart per acre
