In addition to being a fast acting source of nitrogen, alfalfa meal has many nutritional benefits for plants and soil organisms. It contains tricontanol, a natural fatty-acid growth stimulant, and trace minerals.It is high in vitamins and includes sugars, starches, proteins, fiber, and 16 amino acids.
Application:
-Bed planting and lawns: Apply every 3 to 4 months at the rate of 15 lbs./1000 sq.ft. of bed or lawn area. Sprikle lightly over area and water in.
-Vegetables: Apply 3 to 4 lb./100 linear feet. Broadcast 6 inches on each side of row.
-Alfalfa tea: Add 1 cup/gal. of water and let steep for 24 hrs. Then use like any compost tea.
